Blueflex hailnet system
The Blueflex system is a hail net system specially developed for blueberry cultivation. In many cases, blueberries are harvested with a machine that passes over the rows in its entirety. This machine makes harvesting easier, but does not work in combination with a protection system with cross wires.
Features
The Blueflex system is designed to be easy to open and close at a working height that does not require an aerial platform. The system can be opened and closed more often in a year. This also gives you flexibility during the harvest period to keep some rows closed while other rows are rolled up. The Blueflex system consists of 2 separate strips above the grass strip. In the middle of the row, the system is connected with elastic. The elastic pulls the nets towards each other and, in case of hail, ensures that the hail can be discharged in the middle of the row.

AnchoringAnchoring is an important part of the Blueberry system. All rows are anchored lengthwise at both the front and back of the row. The system has no cross wires, yet there are anchors on the side that hold the first row of posts. These anchors are there to provide extra strength when there is strong wind or when there has been a lot of hail. |
Wind-resistantThe Blueflex system is windproof. This is due to the elastic connection. In addition, the system is built on low concrete piles, about 2.0 metres above the ground. As a result, the system catches less wind. |

Hail netsIn the Blueflex system, hail netting is used. The width of the hail netting is determined by the field-specific row width. Different net colours can be used in the system. These include crystal, black, grey and milk white. |
Winter storageOut of season, the system can be easily rolled up and secured on the longitudinal wire. During the harvest period, the net can be easily rolled up and temporarily hung in a hook and easily unrolled again. |
Concrete postsThe Blueflex system is built on short concrete piles. Because the system must remain low for the harvesters. Generally, concrete piles that rise 2 metres above the ground are used. |
