All about different types of tying tube

All about different types of tying tube

There are various types of elastic and plastic solutions to tie the tree to the support. Binding tube or tying tape is the most commonly used solution. There are kilometers of tying tape in global fruit cultivation.

In this blog, I will tell you all about the different types of tying tape.

Tying tape seems like a fairly simple product, which is why it has many providers and suppliers. What then makes a tying tape a quality tying tape?

General information about tying tape

Tying tape is often available in black and green, ranging from 2.5 to 6.0 mm.

Different types of tying tape/tying tube

1. Tying tape in a net

Tying tape in a net is the most commonly used. The net is easy to hang on your pants with a carabiner hook. This way, you always have the tying tape within reach and can work easily and quickly.

4. Transparent tying tape (against insects)

This tying tape was conceived and developed by the company Fruit Support Europe. The apple blossom weevil normally hides in the open ends of black tying tape. Research by Wageningen University and Research shows that apple blossom weevils do not hide in transparent tying tape, but rather prefer black tying tape with a diameter of about 4 mm.

There is also biodegradable tying tape. This tying tape remains on the tree for 2-3 years after application. When the tying tape comes into contact with the soil, it degrades within a few weeks.

6. Pre-cut tying tape

Tying tape is available in various types and sizes. It is ideal for working quickly and effectively. However, a disadvantage is that you often use more tying tape than necessary.
