The Anti-Rain System is the latest innovation in the rain hood category. The Anti-Rain System is similar to the Powerflex Foil System and is also built in the Powerflex way.
FeaturesThe Anti-Rain System is designed to be easy to open and close. The system can be opened and closed more times in one year. The Anti-Rain System is based on the Powerflex Foil System. Only instead of woven foil and thermoplast we use anti-rain net.

AnchoringThe anchoring is the most important part of the system. We therefore recommend that sufficient distance is kept between the post and the anchor. For the Powerflex Foil System, an anchor distance of at least 2.5 m is recommended. FruitSecurity Holland has an anchor for every type of soil. From the softest soil to the most stony soil. If there is any doubt about the type of soil, we will first test the screw anchor for sufficient resistance. A tensile strength of 2.5 to 3 tons is required. |

Anti-rain netThe anti-rain net is a new type of net in the fruit growing sector. The anti-rain nets stops 90% of the rain. The anti-rain nets are woven so tight that it looks like woven foil. The effect of the Anti-Rain System is that the anti-rain net does not let water through. The rain runs off the net into the gutter. Crops become moist but most of the water falls into the gutter. Actually, the Anti-Rain Net gives a fine mist which looks like fog when it rains. |
MountingThe Anti-Rain System is built in the Powerflex way. The Anti-Rain System is wind resistant. This is because of the elastic connection. The wind can get out of the system at all times. Suction or extreme wind pressure from above does not affect the stability of the system. The anti-rain net is so heavy and dense that the anti-rain net has the same characteristics as the woven foil of the Powerflex Foil System when there is wind. Correct installation is therefore essential for the life span of the system and the anti-rain net. |

Climate
An additional advantage of the Anti-Rain Net is that it ventilates. The climate under the Anti-Rain System is therefore different than with 'normal' rain shelters. The direct sunlight is broken into diffuse light. Direct sunlight on the crops is therefore eliminated. The warm air can be drawn away through the Anti-Rain Net.
Winter storage
The Anti-Rain net is rolled up in the winter and stored in the ridge of the Anti-Rain System.
Experience
Currently there are some experimental plots built with anti-rain nets. Experience is gained with the Anti-Rain Net and the Anti-Rain System. The experiences will be shared on this page. One of the test plots is located at Fairplant in Luttelgeest.
